Customized project support for pipeline group implementing CMMS software

The client is a pipeline company that was going through a Maximo (CMMS) software implementation and had unique requirements since the group managed several linear assets (pipelines).

Client's Challenge
The client had unique requirements for the Maximo software implementation when compared to other areas of the organization but lacked the resources and expertise to represent their interests on the overall program team. This area of the business was also growing quickly, with several new pipelines being acquired and new builds scheduled for completion in a couple of years.

Our team was able to provide Project Management and system implementation project expertise for linear assets (specifically pipelines). This involved:

  • Managing stakeholder expectations and regular communications to keep client involved at the right level throughout the implementation
  • Defining and validating requirements for system configuration
  • Assisting client resources in collecting and cleaning data
  • Setting up software testing and engaging client resources in the testing & validation stages of the implementation
  • Creating and conducting end user training
  • Providing support post go-live in order to monitor effective system use and suggest corrections as needed

  • On time and on budget implementation of the new CMMS product
