The client is a water wastewater service provider across the province. They operate various facilities for municipalities and townships.

Client's Challenge

In light of a Maximo (asset management) system implementation, the Finance and IT departments wanted to streamline the procurement to payment process to make it more timely and effective. Currently, various regional offices and their related facilities have different ways of working through procurement processes while the general consensus is that there are a lot of opportunities for improvement.

StraNexus' Approach
StraNexus approached this project in the following manner:

  • Gathered data about the process through key metrics and interviews with various roles in the organization
  • Conducted several future state process redesign workshops, engaging resources from Finance, procurement, IT, and Field Users / Manager
  • Identified opportunities that can be piloted in the field and started to implement the list of quick wins

 

Results

  • Identified $1M-2.5M in potential savings from Procurement to Payment process improvement efforts
  • Presented detailed findings and description of improvement opportunities
  • Piloted select improvement opportunities
